A breakdown of the clubs in our California directory. This is a description of our coverage, not an estimate of the entire market.
“Listed” means a source describes a venue. It does not certify that the club is operating today. Counts and details have not been phone-verified.
Club listings by region
The Los Angeles and San Diego regions each account for eight of the 27 listed venues. The Bay Area has seven. These are directory counts; differences can reflect incomplete coverage.

Recorded booking providers
Playbypoint is recorded for nine venues and Playtomic for eight. Ten listings have no provider recorded. This is not a market-share estimate, and an unknown provider does not mean a club has no online booking.

What is recorded, and what is missing

The 21 records with court counts sum to 75 courts. This is an incomplete recorded subtotal, not a statewide court total. Some venue classifications require further checking.
Only three records include prices. That is insufficient to publish a representative California average. There is no longitudinal dataset here, so we do not report a growth rate.
How these figures were calculated
The source is the September 17, 2026 directory snapshot. The file contains 31 venue records. Analysis includes the 27 records marked “Listed”; three marked “Coming soon” and one marked “Needs confirmation” are counted separately.
A venue is one location, not one brand. Separate branches count separately. City names follow the address labels in the directory: Sherman Oaks is separate from Los Angeles, and South San Francisco is separate from San Francisco.
Regional and provider figures count records. Missing values remain missing. Sources and research dates are included for every record in the download. This analysis does not reverify those underlying records.
Private-club access, operating status and some court counts are unresolved. La Valle’s source uses “platform courts” on its padel page; its classification needs checking. The full data is provided so readers can inspect or exclude disputed records.
